First off, I am a huge supporter of anything made in Canada!
Bummis falls in to that category, so naturally, I HAD to give them a try!
When looking for diapers for our soon to be
newborn twins, I found myself looking at a multitude of one size(OS)
diapers that ranged 7/8lbs-35lbs. We were assured that our boys were
going to be small...even if I was able to carry them full term. It was
really important to us to cloth diaper them as soon as possible after
their birth, so I started "digging" through the cloth diaper world to
find the perfect tiny diapers!
Shortly after, I came across Bummis, a great
Canadian company whose diapers were also manufactured in Canada! The
first thing that drew me in about Bummis was that they go by sizes;
Preemie, Newborn, Small, Medium, and Large. You get a perfect fit for
each stage as your baby grows!
A lot of people look at the OS diaper and look at
the savings...one diaper that will fit your baby from birth to potty
training. But what most people don't think about, is, a sized diaper
system is like having a set of summer tires and a set of winter
tires. You may need to buy more than one set, but because you only use
them for a short period of time, that they will have a longer life. This
means you will be able to use each size on multiple children!
Another draw in of the Bummis brand is the
price! Even though they are produced here, by workers who are paid fare
wage, they have an absolutely outstanding price! Our Super Lite Covers
are $11.49 and the Super Whisper are $13.49. A great deal on cover that
you can use over and over again!
And as a side note!
Our boys weren't all that small after all! They
were born at 37 weeks weighing 6lbs and 6lbs 10oz, and only wore their
newborn Bummis Prefolds and covers for 4 weeks!
This is a picture of me and my mom changing baby Ryan at 5 weeks old!
